If by some miracle of the universe you have found your way here, you might be thinking…

So Who or What is Empathy is Badass?

That is a valid question.

My name is Alyssa. How the heck are ya?

I started Empathy is Badass in 2021. It started as a few sticker designs on Redbubble and some Etsy resume templates, and has since spawned into a podcast, website, and social media.

My hope and intention is to help my fellow humans find freedom and empowerment through empathy, compassion, gratitude and kindness.

As the tagline says,

“You don’t have to be an ass to be a badass.”

My personal focus is to remain true to who I am and live a life of genuine compassion, bravery, and kindness every day.

I also hope to inspire people to be courageous and say no to “normal”. This life is too short to live it based on the expectation and judgement of others. We  all deserve peace, happiness, and joy on a daily basis.

A Little About Me

I have had many unique and sometimes even unusual experiences in life that have given me so much perspective. I often say I am in my 20’s going on 100.

If sharing my sometimes strange and difficult circumstances and stories can remind someone who is struggling that they are not as alone as they feel, that is enough for me.

I used to be so afraid to share or be who I was because all I ever wanted was to be normal and liked. It was more important to me than anything else, even staying true to who I was.

Overtime, I noticed that when I was myself, the best people usually came into my life. I realize now that often times, the people meant to be in my life like me because I am unique.

And being unique is f**king awesome.

After years of searching for “answers to life”, I slowly realized that the suffering I had experienced all had a greater purpose. It took me hitting rock bottom on several occasions, losing everything, and having nothing to get there. But, all that matters is that I kept going, and kept growing.

The unique and sometimes difficult situations in my past helped me grow into the person I am today that I can genuinely say I am proud to be.

My stories and learned experience have given me many opportunities to impact others and open doors for myself. This life has been one hell of a ride, but without all the chaos who knows where I would be. Probably a lot worse off.

Nothing great stems from the same old boring sh*t everyone has always been doing ya know what I mean?

If you want out of the cycle, if you want unstuck, it’s up to you. Sometimes, no one will be cheering you on, except for you. Sometimes, you will be the only one in your corner. Sometimes when it seems like everything is working against you, you just have to find the drive to keep pushing, and to want more.

Change is inevitable. Embracing and making the best of it is up to you.

Complacency is poison.

Remaining stagnant and refusing to embrace change or grow is a recipe for a life of resentment.

Getting to the Point I Promise

My goal is to create a safe space and community for anyone on the path to healing, personal growth, finding joy, seeking truth, working on loving themselves, and anyone who is ready to make a change.

A platform for people who have been through hell and back, and want to harness their power for the good of all, not just themselves.

I am here to talk about the taboo, the uncomfortable, the hard to navigate, the complex, the sad, the joy, the peace, the best, and the worst.

I hope to help people find resources and perspective for before, during, and after the hurt that inevitably happens in life.

I hope to bring you joy, and spark a flame in you with my light and love, so that you can spread that spark to others.

Hurt people can either hurt people, or help people.

You are capable of forgiving yourself, forgiving others, and letting go of the past and future.

You are in control of your thoughts and emotions.

You are beautiful and unbroken.

You are worthy.

You matter.

And that’s all I have to say about that.

Thanks everyone, love you from afar.
